Biography
Saheb Chakraborty is currently serving as a State Aided College Teacher (Category-I) in the Department of Physics at Garhbeta College. He is an alumnus of the same institution, having completed his Bachelor’s degree in 2014. He obtained his Master’s degree in Physics from Vidyasagar University in 2016.
He was awarded the prestigious INSPIRE (Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research) Scholarship by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, for his academic excellence during his undergraduate and postgraduate studies. He further completed his Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree in 2018.
Mr. Chakraborty joined Garhbeta College as a faculty member in 2018. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. from Vidyasagar University, with research interests in semiconductor devices. He has qualified several national and state-level competitive examinations, including UGC NET-JRF, WBSET, CTET, and WBTET.
His academic interests include computational and experimental physics. He is proficient in programming languages such as FORTRAN and Python, and is experienced in using scientific and mathematical software tools including MATLAB and Origin. He actively incorporates these tools into teaching and encourages students to explore computational approaches in physics.
Deeply committed to teaching and student development, he emphasizes hands-on learning through laboratory work and consistently motivates students to actively engage in experimental physics. He is particularly passionate about training students in laboratory experiments and fostering a strong conceptual understanding of physics.
